Today, I spent my time googling "Dumb Goals to Have in Life."
The storyline once again has changed with my project. Instead of doing the life-progression thing, due to complications, I have reverted to a typical underdog type story. Only I want to add a humorous twist to it.
Today I am looking up "dumb goals to have in life", to try and add to the storyline and funny comedy in the music video for "The Ultimate" by Stan Bush.

My story for the "Almost Famous" project has been finalized.
Originally, I was planning on doing the life timeline video, however, due to lack of time and resources, I don't think I will be able to pull this off.
With the help of my TV Production teacher Mr. Lynch, we came to the idea of me doing the traditional underdog type story, only with a silly twist to it to make it appear more as a comedy.
Since the work is all done outside of school, today I started typing my creative writing paper assignment. I am basing the deep storyline off of a drunk driving PSA I had made for my TV Production class.

I am beginning to finalize the storyline to my music video for the song "The Ultimate" by Stan Bush.
I am going to attempt a motivational, thought provoking "circle of life" style video, showing several older clips of me that I have made (with my years of video making interest), and showing the progression of time throughout the clips. The lyrics are extremely fitting for the topic: "You've searched for so long, a lifetime of waiting, the powers are waking," "Hold tight, life's a rocket ride," and "You've come this far, it's yours for the taking."
I would capture footage of an older man, preferably a senior citizen in my family, around the house, reminiscing on items, and then the majority of the video would be the flashbacks of mainly middle school and high school footage of me, with several old, adolescent pictures being displayed.
The song ends in a unique fashion, with a snare drum line, surreal sounding synthesizer, and a vocal choir hitting different notes. For the finally, it would be a black and white, slow-motion "flashback" over the entire life of this man, and when the drumline abruptly stops with the song, the senior citizens eyes would close, bringing us to the music videos ending.

Well, now at the conclusion of Winter Break, it is now a new year, 2015.
I had a fresh idea for my music video. Rather than doing a generic music video about teenage life or showing a typical scenario, I thought I would do something more personal and closer to home, and VERY relatable.
I have been interested in movies and filming ever since I was in the 5th grade. I have an enormous library of projects piled up. I was thinking of setting the music video to the progression of my own life, to where I am now, as kind of a "reflection," and also, to be a very motivational viewpoint for those who watch it.
To do a clipshow/slideshow of how I got from Point A to B in life, so on and so forth. I think I can be a very motivational project for people to watch, and think about life.

On Monday, December 1st, 2014, I was absent and not here to do further research on the project. I do realize that this is my fault, and I should have taken it upon myself to do further research on my own time at home.
Nothing too new has accumulated since the last bit of research. I am still analyzing lyrics to try and put forth a storyline to the music video. I am trying to get the general consensus of how many people I am having be in this music video, and how many of them will be required on multiple days.

I have now fully decided to change my project, from a short film comedy, to a music video to the song "The Ultimate" by Stan Bush. Recorded and released in 2014, the song itself sounds like it easily could have come out in 1988.
The lyrics to the song are very motivational and uplifting, with lyrics such as "Hold tight, life's a rocket ride" and "Rise up like an eagle in flight." The song also has a very unique ending, with the combination of a snare drum march, synthesizer beats, and a choir.
I'm currently deciding on my storyline. I want to base it off of the plot to the 1985 film "Better off Dead," (an all-time favorite of mine). I need to try and brainstorm the exact plot of the video before I plan the individual shots. I also know I want to tie in childhood footage of myself, since the overall message of the song is about how you've come a long way in life, and are about to face the biggest challenge that your life has been building you up to.

Some new developments have been made with my "Almost, Famous" project.
In class, I spent the hour looking up and recounting on various movie plots for movies I like for inspiration. I wanted to try and combine plots to several movies to see if I can make a coherent story for my short comedy.
I am now now debating if I should change and do a music video for this class.
My intent was going to be to make a short film (comedy) for my TV Pro film festival we attend in the spring. However, for that, I brainstormed the idea of creating a 30 sec - 1 minute long PSA (Public Service Announcement). That would be extremely small for this project, so I figured I would also try something new with this project.
I still used the movie plots that I researched for ideas on what my story should be if I do a music video. I've made dozens of short films, however, I have never done a music video. This would be a new experiment to try out. I'm thinking about doing a music video to the song "The Ultimate" by Stan Bush.
